2023 GMC Acadia
Not many midsize three-row SUVs boast an off-roading capacity as well as a luxurious interior, but that's where the 2023 GMC Acadia strives to be a little different compared to other vehicles in its class. This SUV's AT4 trim comes standard with all-terrain tires and all-wheel drive, while the Denali is the epitome of luxury with numerous amenities. Use this guide to learn why you need to get behind the wheel of the 2023 Acadia today.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can choose among four trims with the 2023 Acadia: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The lower two trims have 18-inch wheels, the AT4 features 17-inch all-terrain tires, and the Denali has 20-inch ones. Three new paint colors are also available for this model year.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 Acadia has two engine options, and you can't go wrong with either. The base turbocharged four-cylinder engine gets 228 horsepower, and this engine comes standard on the lower two trims. The upgraded V-6 engine cranks out 310 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The SLE, SLT, and Denali trims all come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. The off-road AT4 trim comes standard with all-wheel drive.
Performance
Compared to other vehicles in its class, the 2023 Acadia achieves above-average fuel economy numbers. When paired with the base engine and front-wheel drive, the vehicle gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. However, opting for all-wheel drive and the base engine sees the highway mileage drop by two mpg. The available V-6 engine and front-wheel drive give you 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel drive gets the same city mileage but 26 mpg on the highway. Also, when properly equipped, the Acadia has a maximum towing capacity of 4,000 pounds.
Interior
Seating six people comfortably, the 2023 Acadia comes standard with a pair of captain's chairs in the second row with 39 inches of legroom. Cargo space maxes out at 79 cubic feet when you fold down the second and third rows of seats. Upper trims include perforated leather upholstery along with heated front seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat.
One of the best features of this SUV is its infotainment system located on an 8-inch touch-screen display. It includes an intuitive menu layout highlighted by quick response times. You can also operate some of these functions via physical controls. The vehicle comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, several USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, and Bluetooth. Available upgrades include wireless device charging, navigation, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Acadia is equipped with more than a dozen safety features, some of which include blind-spot monitoring, forward automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and pedestrian detection. It also includes the Teen Driver system, which allows you to set audio and speed limits for secondary drivers. You can add other features as well, such as a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera system, and front pedestrian braking. Thanks to these impressive safety features, the Acadia achieved a perfect overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
