The 2022 GMC Acadia is a good mid-size SUV for drivers looking for a comfortable SUV. It offers two additional rows of roomy seats, a cushioned ride, and an easy-to-use infotainment system. Good gas mileage and a respectable cargo capacity make it a versatile vehicle.
1. Excellent Performance
GMC once offered a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine for the Acadia. They got rid of that engine in favor of a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 228 horsepower paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new engine improved the performance of the Acadia making it more powerful with better drivability and responsiveness.

In previous years the Acadia had an SL trim. GMC eliminated it in favor of the SLE, the new baseline for this SUV. Drivers now have better features since the upgrade to the new base model. The redesign of the LED headlights into the classic signature C, LED taillights, and the addition of 17-inch aluminum wheels gives it a classy and stylish appearance.
4. Special Editions
Whether drivers want a luxury vehicle or a sporty one, the Acadia can accommodate any taste. With the Denali, drivers have a choice of an ultra-luxury SUV while the AT4 offers a sporty design and off-road capability. Drivers may opt for Denali’s new Black Diamond Edition with its 20-inch painted wheels and an After Midnight finish. It offers a 3.6-liter LGX V-6 engine and is finished off with the Ebony Twilight Metallic exterior paint.
5. Hauling and Towing Capacity
When looking at a vehicle as luxurious as the Acadia, many drivers may not think about the towing capacity. This SUV offers 1,000 lbs. of towing capacity, sufficient for most drivers. Those who need more may opt for the more powerful V-6 engine and increase the load to 4,000 lbs. Trailer hitches are available for most models.
6. Advanced Driver Assistance
GMC offers the Pro Safety Plus package as standard on all models. It includes A Blind Zone Alert with the Lane Change Alert. Front Pedestrian Braking helps avoid pedestrians while Adaptive Cruise Control allows drivers to maintain a safe distance from vehicles up ahead.
7. Outstanding Technology
The Acadia comes with an 8-inch diagonal infotainment system with excellent connectivity features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Bose Premium 8-Speaker sound system is available on all models except the SLE where it is an optional upgrade.
