Meet the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500 HD
Whether you need to haul materials across a job site or climb steep slopes, the new Sierra 3500 HD can handle all your heavy tasks. This year’s lineup includes six trim levels, most available in a range of cab and bed configurations. Those who need a rugged work truck can’t go wrong with the regular cab style. Paired exclusively with a long bed, it offers seats for three and a bed cargo volume of 83.5 cubic feet.
The double cab fits crews of up to six and pairs with the same long bed, excelling in terms of utility. Inside, this model boasts a versatile second row that is easy to turn into a cargo area. If you need an adventure truck that’s as comfortable as it is capable, the crew cab offers more second-row legroom, and it can be customized with front bucket seats for a capacity of five riders. This cab type can be had either with a long or a standard bed.
Massive Capability
GMC offers two powertrain options for the new Sierra 3500 HD. The base system uses a 6.6L V8 gas engine paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, meaning you get plenty of power for spirited acceleration, excellent traction, and a massive payload capacity of up to 4,721 lbs in the entry trim level.
Available across all trims and standard on the Denali Ultimate, a 6.6L turbo-diesel V8 engine delivers 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to this engine is a great idea if you’re into extreme off-roading, as the extra torque can enhance handling on dangerous terrains. It also delivers a massive towing capacity of up to 36,000 lbs, meaning it is also a great option for heavy-duty trailering.
Contemporary Tech Features
All trim levels and cab styles boast modern interiors packed with exciting tech features. One of the model’s main highlights is the standard OnStar Basics package which includes a built-in voice assistant, remote commands, automatic crash response, and real-time traffic and navigation. All models are also compatible with all other OnStar services, making it easy to customize your ride with any preferred features.
Convenience technologies include hitch guidance, while a convenient in-vehicle trailering app is available on all except for the base trim. All trims, except for the base, also come with a premium infotainment system featuring a 13.4-inch touchscreen and Google built-in.
