Located roughly 50 miles south of Columbus and 100 miles east of Cincinnati, the city of Chillicothe, OH, is an excellent base to go on memorable day trips in your brand-new 2022 Chevy Equinox and explore the area with your family or friends. 1. Columbus

Located about 50 miles north of Chillicothe, the city can be reached in less than an hour by car along route US-23.

Once you make your way to Ohio’s state capital and find a place to park near the downtown area, a great way to start exploring the city is to go for a walk along the Scioto Greenway, which sits along the banks of the Scioto River. Getting to Cincinnati from Chillicothe takes about an hour and a half by car, so it is a good idea to hit the road early if you want to explore the city’s main attractions without rushing. 3. Paint Creek State Park

Featuring a 1,000-acre reservoir and spanning an area of almost 6,000 acres, Paint Creek State Park is a popular recreation area established in 1972 and managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Located about 30 miles west of downtown Chillicothe, this nature reserve can be reached in about 35 minutes by car along route US-50. Popular activities in the park include fishing, hunting, hiking, and swimming.
